The Rebati Ranjan Bhowmik Memorial Charitable Society (RRBMCS) was founded in 2009 to honor the life and legacy of freedom fighter Shri Rebati Ranjan Bhowmik (1915–1997) and his father Krishna Sundar Bhowmik, both leaders in the historic peasant uprisings of Hasnabad, then under British rule.
What began as a tribute to two generations of courage has grown into a living movement. Guided by descendants like Dr. Tapas Kr. Bhowmik, Mr. Mohar Bhowmik, Dr. Bikash Bhowmik, and now Dr. Shaon Dutta, RRBMCS carries forward their spirit of service -reaching rural and marginalized communities with healthcare, education, livelihoods, and dignity.
Today, RRBMCS operates Bengal’s 3rd-largest community medicine bank, organizes free health camps, supports skill-building for women and youth, and partners with local leaders to address human rights, employment, and welfare issues. Every initiative is rooted in the belief that freedom is meaningful only when it uplifts the poorest.
